Rollei film is made by Maco in Germany, and a good deal of the range traces back to Agfa aerial emulsions. That heritage explains the recurring theme here, which is extended red sensitivity and a tonal response that does interesting things to skies and foliage.

Rollei RPX 100 is the straightforward one, a conventional medium speed emulsion with classic tonality and no particular drama. Rollei Superpan 200 and Rollei Retro 80S both carry the aerial lineage, with sensitivity reaching towards the near infrared, which means a deep red filter turns them into something quite different from what the box speed suggests. Rollei Blackbird is the creative option, deliberately high contrast and unapologetic about it.
