What We Do

Chemical Dependency Lab is a North Essex film development lab born from the same obsession you're nursing. We started as a passion project—a side hustle fueled by too many rolls of film and not enough patience waiting for mail-order labs. What began in evenings and weekends is growing into something bigger, because apparently we're not the only ones who can't kick this habit.

We specialise in C-41 colour and black & white processing, treating every roll with the precision and care it deserves. Whether you're shooting 35mm street photography or medium format landscapes, we understand that what you're handing us isn't just film—it's moments you can't get back.

Why We Exist

In a world of instant gratification, film photography is beautifully, frustratingly analogue. It demands patience, intention, and yes—actual chemistry.
