Street Candy
Street Candy is built on a simple idea, which is that the most interesting emulsions are rarely the ones sold to photographers. The stocks here were designed for machines rather than people, and they behave accordingly. The brand now sits under Flic Film, which is a sensible home for it given they share a taste for putting unlikely emulsions into cassettes.
Street Candy ATM400 is repurposed cash machine surveillance film, high contrast and heavy on the grain, which is exactly what you want if you are shooting hard shadows and want them to stay hard. Street Candy MTN100 is the slower sibling, finer grained and rather better mannered without losing the character. Street Candy Street Savvy 400 is the colour entry, warm and natural in a way the black and white stocks are emphatically not.
These are films with opinions, and they reward shooting them in the conditions they were built for rather than fighting them. Fresh stock posted from North Essex, with developing and scanning available if you want the results without the darkroom.
