DragonFilm No.IV 400 ISO - 35mm Black & White

Built to photograph things from the sky. Works rather well from the ground. DragonFilm No.IV is an ISO 400 black and white film built on Tasma Svema 42L emulsion, manufactured in Ukraine and originally designed for aerial surveillance applications. High silver content, deep blacks, strong contrast, and a grain structure the manufacturer compares to Kodak Tri-X — bold, characterful, and entirely unapologetic about it. Push it and the contrast climbs further. Pull it and things get a little more controlled. Either way, images that look like they were made with intent. In stock now and shipping fast from the UK.

What Makes DragonFilm No.IV Good

ISO 400 - Fast enough for street photography, indoor available light, and challenging conditions. Versatile enough for most situations.

High Silver Content - Rich, dense blacks and strong tonal separation. The silver does the heavy lifting.

Strong Contrast - Bold, characterful images with clear tonal separation. Similar character to Kodak Tri-X, built on completely different stock.

Tasma Svema 42L Aerial Stock - Ukrainian surveillance emulsion with distinctive visual character. The aerial origins show in the resolution and contrast.

Push/Pull Friendly - Push for more contrast, pull for more control. Responds predictably to both.

Standard B&W Chemistry - Develops in standard chemistry without special handling.

36 Exposures - A full roll for a proper shooting session.

Best For

Street photography, documentary work, available light shooting, photographers who love the Tri-X character but want something less expected, and anyone curious about what Ukrainian aerial emulsion looks like at ground level. Once you've shot it, send it our way — we develop and scan it too.

Perfect for photographers who want bold, characterful black and white with a story behind the grain.
