Ilford HP5 Plus & XP2 Super Football Collectors Edition Bundle

Two legendary films. One very good reason to shoot sport this summer.

Ilford HP5 Plus and XP2 Super have always been the ISO 400 black and white films to reach for. Now they come in packaging that makes the case for shooting sport on film.

The Ilford HP5 Plus & XP2 Super Football Collectors Edition Bundle brings together one roll each of two of Ilford's most celebrated black and white films in limited-edition packaging featuring photography by Miles Myerscough-Harris, the sports photographer behind Expired Film Club and the person Ilford chose to put their name to this release. The emulsions themselves are unchanged: this is the same HP5 Plus and XP2 Super that photographers have relied on for decades, now in collector-friendly packaging. Limited edition. One bundle contains one roll of each film.

What's in the Ilford Football Collectors Edition Bundle

Ilford HP5 Plus 35mm: The Crowd Favourite HP5 Plus is a high speed, fine grain, medium contrast black and white film making it an excellent choice for journalism, documentary, travel, sports, action, and indoor available light photography. Rated at ISO 400 and pushable to ISO 3200, it has the latitude and speed to handle almost any shooting situation, from bright daylight to genuinely difficult low-light environments. Developed in standard black and white chemistry. The Football Collectors Edition packaging features Myerscough-Harris' photography and makes for a roll worth keeping even after the film is shot.

Ilford XP2 Super 35mm: The Chromogenic Wildcard XP2 Super is a sharp, fast, fine-grain black and white film with the unique ability to be processed in C-41 chemistry, the same as colour negative films, meaning any lab that processes colour film can develop it without specialist black and white chemistry, including Chemical Dependency Lab. The negatives can be printed on traditional black and white papers. ISO 400, DX coded, outstandingly sharp results across all lighting conditions. Like HP5 Plus, it arrives in the limited-edition Football packaging.

About Miles Myerscough-Harris and Expired Film Club Expired Film Club is renowned for shooting sport on analogue film cameras, from NBA basketball and Major League baseball to snooker, tennis, and football. Myerscough-Harris was chosen by Ilford to front this release because his work makes the most compelling case for shooting sport on film, and his photography is what adorns the packaging. "Most of the other photographers think I'm mental to even try to use film cameras at a sports event nowadays, but I love the challenge and the results," he has said. The bundle is a piece of that spirit in a box.

Limited Edition The cassettes do not bear any limited-edition branding, so once the film is shot the packaging is the collectable element. Keep the boxes.

Best For The Football Collectors Edition bundle suits photographers who want to shoot sport, action, or any fast-moving subject on black and white film this summer, with two films that each bring a different processing option to the table. It also suits collectors who want a piece of a genuinely limited release, and anyone who thinks the story behind the film is as important as the emulsion inside it. Both films are versatile well beyond sport: HP5 Plus and XP2 Super between them cover virtually every black and white shooting situation imaginable.

Perfect for: Sport and action photographers shooting on film, collectors who want limited-edition Ilford packaging, photographers who want one roll of classic black and white chemistry and one roll they can send to any colour lab, and anyone whose dependency on film extends to wanting the packaging to match the occasion.

HP5 Plus and XP2 Super are two of the films that defined black and white photography for a generation of film shooters. The Football Collectors Edition puts them in packaging that celebrates what those films can do in the hands of someone who understands sport and analogue photography equally well. Limited stock, two excellent films, one good reason to start loading cameras.
